The most amazing Law Firm in Illinois
The most amazing Law Firm in Illinois. In March of 2022, my son and I were in a very bad accident that was caused by a careless driver. My car was totaled, and I was injured. Luckily, my son was okay, but my daily life was put to a stop due to my injuries. I had never been in an accident like this before and was at a complete loss of what I needed to do next. I spent that weekend going through different reviews when I found Schierer & Ritchie, LLC. I called them the first available business day, and they were able to get me in quickly with Charles. When I met him, I had a brace on my wrist, and he immediately took note of that and told me I should get physical therapy, then let me sit there and explain to him everything that happened. He asked thorough questions so that he fully understood what happened and then went over everything he wanted me to do and what he was going to do for me and made sure I understood everything. Now after this, we didn’t talk much, and I spoke with Brandon, his paralegal, for the rest of the process. I have too many words for the amazing help that Brandon has given to me, he is thorough, organized, and if I wasn’t happy with something, he handled it for me. He would check in with me throughout the whole process and even asked how my son and physical therapy were going, it was honestly like talking with an old friend. I have already recommended my sister to them after her case had been stalled for over a year with another law office, and I will continue to recommend them to everyone I possibly can. Thank you all SO much, you are truly amazing!

Our client was at a local hospital for heart-related issues. When the anesthesiologist administered the medication for the procedure, she did so in the wrong order and dosage. This caused a serious injury to our client. The client received an outstanding settlement after being turned away by several firms, including a firm in the Chicago area.

Personal Injury
Policy LimitsCar Fire
Our client, a passenger in a truck, received serious burns on their hands and back as a result of a truck fire caused by the carelessness of the driver. After months of tough negotiation and being presented with a detailed settlement packet prepared by our office, the insurance company of an at-fault driver paid our client the full amount of money available: policy limits on their client’s policy.
Bus Accident
Confidential SettlementCity Bus Collision
This Peoria County case involved a city bus driver who took too wide of a turn and hit our client. We drafted a lawsuit but were ultimately able to settle the case. We went to the client’s home, which had no means of transportation. We are willing to go the extra mile to help a client. If that means making house calls, we do it. This client had been told “No” before on this claim. We got her to a settlement, and her bills were paid!
Drug Crimes
Minimum Sentence on Reduced ChargesClass X Drug Charges
Our client was a resident of California and was investigated for mailing large amounts of drugs to Illinois. A contact in Bloomington allegedly received several packages. The United States Postmaster General’s office intercepted the packages. The Bloomington contact provided information to law enforcement, and our client was arrested. The weight of the cannabis mailed to Bloomington elevated the charges to Class X, which is punishable by a term in prison from 6-30 years and is non-probation eligible. We reduced the charges to Class 1, which is in the 4-15-year range. Our client did the MINIMUM TERM as charged.

The severity depends on the jurisdiction and specifics of the crime. Burglary is generally a felony, which is a serious crime that can lead to significant penalties, including imprisonment. Factors like possessing weapons or causing injuries can elevate the charges.
Can charges be dropped in burglary cases?
Charges can be dropped if there is insufficient evidence or if procedural errors are found. However, only the prosecutor can decide to drop charges, often after negotiations or new evidence arises. A skilled attorney can help argue for charge dismissal.
Do I need an attorney for burglary defense?
Yes, having a knowledgeable attorney is crucial for a burglary defense. An attorney can help navigate the legal process, protect your rights, and work towards the best possible outcome based on the facts of your case.
How long do burglary charges stay on my record?
Burglary charges can remain on your criminal record permanently unless expunged or sealed. The availability of expungement depends on state laws, the severity of the charge, and your criminal history.
